Know the Area
Zambujeira do Mar, a small town of 912 inhabitants, and its transcendently beautiful beach - which forms part of the Southwest Alentejo Natural Park are a 15 min drive from the Farm Hotel. This unspoilt stretch of coastline is raw, rugged and windswept, with cliffs, golden brown sand and ocean as far as the eye can see. In August Zambujeira do Mar is a centre of much festivity. The MEO Sudoeste Music Festival and traditional markets and processions take place bringing much excitement to the village and surrounding areas. Vila Nova de Milfontes, Carvalhal beach, Amàlia Beach are all a short drive from Zambujeira. São Tetonio, Odemira - the closest village to the farm is known for its June festivities in which the streets are decorated with paper flowers. Vicentino Wine Shop is also worth a visit for wine lovers. Surfers, hikers, bird-watchers, seafood enthusiasts, fans of Alentejo sweet potato and bread will de delighted with all the region has to offer.
